Lifeline Singles - SINGLE ADULT MINISTRY
We are not simply a social club, but we do love to have fun! We are about people helping people. We meet together to grow spiritually, emotionally, and socially. We are not designed to promote singleness nor marriage, but instead a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. We minister to singles who have never been married and those who are divorced. "Whosoever will" may come!
THE CHALLENGE
Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest - John 4:35
Forty percent of Edmond homes are single parent families. There are many single moms and dads struggling without hope today. They have no hope to give their children. They need Jesus and we need to take Jesus to them. We are asking the Lord to make a way for us to be a life saving station to those who are drifting, hurting and suffering.
Single people are lonely and need someone to care. Theydon't always feel like they fit in. Most singles are dealing with low self esteem and have other emotional needs. They have often been rejected and feel the need to belong. Alone, they face the challenges of making decisions about finances, parenting, etc. With no mate to discuss these matters, it can be pretty lonely at times. The good news is we are a support to one another and gather strength from the prayers and encouragement of each other.
We must learn to accept people where they are, not where we want them to be! We must be understanding, not judgmental.
INVOLVEMENT
Each person possesses valuable gifts and talents that the Lord can use in many ways. All of us work together to provide a great singles group! Some of us teach, others take care of the attendance, treasury, contacting visitors, and those who are sick. We have committees for telephone ministry, fund-raisers and trips. There is a vision for a divorce-care ministry. We welcome all singles to be involved with Lifeline Singles Minsitry.
